Charnele Crandle is a multifaceted artist, with a background in performing arts. During her time pursuing a bachelors degree at Clark Atlanta University, Charnele decided to explore the production side of visual arts. There she picked up the camera and dove into photojournalism and set design. She then decided to pursue photography as a business in 2015 in collaboration with a fellow photography peer, Sarai Israel-Young. Together, they founded a creative agency named, Two2Versions based out of Atlanta, Ga, Two2Versions allowed Charnele to really become comfortable as a multifaceted artist, sharpening her skills in photography, set design, art direction, casting and styling. Charnele had the opportunity to photograph with brands like AfroPunk and PBR as an event and production photographer. Charnle also has worked with local Atlanta brands like Coco & Mischa, El Ponce Mexican Cantina Restaurant, CREATE DAily, Flush Studio and many more small businesses as a product and editorial photographer.
Charnele's personal projects aim to highlight the pure joy and authentic emotion Black and Brown folks truly experience. Unfortunately, media has sought to dehumanize the black experience and that's something Charnele focuses on reversing through her lens by humanizing the black community. Working closely with friends in the creative field, Charnele consistently captures the pure essence and rawness of our culture, From dedications to musical legends like the Wu-Tang Clan to documenting the black skate community in the Historic Old Fourth Ward (Atlanta, GA), she aspires to highlight the vibrancy that can sometimes be dimmed and overlooked in media.
Alongside her photography, Charnele is a co-founder of the creative agency, Two2Versions. She is also an amazing set designer. She recently had her first solo project where she designed the Black Parent Pride Summit in collaboration. with xHood(Atlanta, GA). She also co-directed a Dr. Seuss inspired interactive installation, Equinox, with the former creative company, CTRL-ALT-DEL. Charnele also had the opportunity to co-curate her first photography showcase, Phase 1, where she premiered her series entitled, "Tug N Pull". Charnele looks forward to being showcased in more art exhibitions in the near future.
Charnele's ultimate goal as a multi-faceted artist is to be able to reach the masses through her lens and perspective. She wants to be able to be a voice for young black women who are often silenced. She also dreams to create space for like minded artists to express themselves freely by opening a photography/art studio and event space. Ultimately, she wants to continue to be a vessel to tell Black and brown stories authentically and beautifully.
